BARTER BRINGS INDIVIDUAL SMALLHOLDER FARMERS TOGETHER TO CREATE LOCAL VIRTUAL CO-OPERATIVES.

BARTER PLATFORM

BARTER is a web trading platform designed to close the national supply-demand gap in  the agricultural ecosystem.

BRIDGING THE GAP

BARTER brings the world of ecommerce to rural entities; bridging the gap between rural traders and buyers in all forms.

POINT OF ARBITRAGE

The platform exposes commercial buyers (ICs, MSMEs and SMEs) to crops garnered from local small-scale farmers and co-operatives.

AGGREGATING SUPPLY

BARTER aggregates supply from smallholder low-capacity domestic farmers by creating virtual co-operatives.

“BARTER ENSURES SUPPLY AT THE REQUIRED SCALE TO SELL TO WIDER UNDER-SERVED MARKETS...

RISK REDUCTION

BARTER reduces risk on both sides. Farmers are guaranteed sales based on their output. They are incentivised to improve crop yields by investing in education and better more resilient resources. Similarly, Buyers are guaranteed the supply they need at the required scale, competitive pricing and timely delivery.

DOMESTICALLY SOURCED

All of the produce sold on BARTER will be locally & domestically sourced catering to under-served buyer segments and removing timing and quality inefficiencies in the value chain typical of imported products.

MARKET STABILITY

Aggregating the production of farm produce creates scalability, greater market efficiencies and helps work towards meeting the domestic demand for food commodities.

VISION

SUSTAINABLY END WORLD HUNGER

MISSION

Our mission is to ensure that sustainable farming and cultivation leads the fight against hunger. We are collaborative in our approach and empower both farmers and consumers to reach that goal by bridging the gap through the use of advanced agri-tech.

PARTNERSHIPS

We’re utilising our strong network of key cultural and tribal leadership to onboard farmers in large amounts efficiently. We are also forming strategic partnerships with key representative bodies including The All-Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN). We want to build the largest database of smallholder farmers in Nigeria.

INGROWERS & OUTGROWERS MODEL

We help to expose our farmers to better inputs and farm management techniques. We provide supervision, training (advanced farming and seeding methods) and more resilient inputs including improved seeds and fertilizer. Farmers are incentivised to improve crop yields with guaranteed sales based on their output.

IMMEDIATE IMPACT

We’re have gone live with the main cash crops including maize, cassava, soybean, cashews and yam. These crops have huge supply deficits in Nigeria. We’re addressing that gap in demand!
